ABOUT

Anna Zakharova is a professional artist and art teacher living in St. Petersburg, Russia.
Anna began her artistic career at the B. V. Ioganson St. Petersburg State Academic Art Lyceum of the Russian Academy of Arts. After graduating, she enrolled at the Saint Petersburg Repin Academy of Arts - one of Europe’s leading institutions for classical art. During her studies, she participated in various academic exhibitions and projects. Her diploma project was awarded a certificate of commendation by the examination committee.

After completing her studies, she worked at the Saint Petersburg Repin Academy of Arts in the Laboratory of Techniques and Technologies of Easel Painting, where she gained a deep understanding of traditional and modern materials, methods and technical processes in painting. This technical knowledge plays an important role in her creative practice.

Currently, Anna is engaged in teaching while simultaneously pursuing her professional artistic career. She creates unique works of art and participates in exhibitions and international projects. Her works are held in private collections in Russia and abroad.

In her work, Anna combines the academic precision of drawing with an emotional, almost impressionistic rendering of light, air, and color vibrations. Her style can be described as contemporary realism with lyrical and symbolic undertones. Her paintings are both specific in detail and open to the viewer’s personal interpretation. She uses her academic foundation as a tool to convey a personal, meditative view of the world.
